VPN again...

I've been looking through the VPN suggestions in this forum, but none of them seem to offer any suggestions about advanced VPN help other than "it's broke."
I've been able to get up to the point where my username is accepted, but when "registering your computer on the network" occurs, I get error 741 - The LOCAL computer does not support the required data encryption type. This is when I change the Security -> Advanced Security settings to "Require Encryption (disconnect if server declines). If I switch this encryption requirement on my VPN connection to "Maximum Strength Encryption (disconnect if server declines)," then I get an error 742 - The REMOTE computer does not support the required data encryption type.
So it looks like if I select regular encryption, my computer isn't up to snuff, and if I select maximum encryption, the REMOTE computer isn't up to snuff.
Either way, there is no "meeting" of the two networks.
Anyone else run into this?
